Taking Care of Caregivers

A counselling practice devoted to the support & nourishment of Caregivers, across British Columbia.

Welcome

I’m so happy you’ve found your way here. I’m Cat Main, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), who is committed to providing support to caregivers.

I know from my own lived experience that care work has its own very unique challenges. And I draw on what I’ve learned, both personally and professionally, to create a counselling experience to meet your specific needs.

My hope is to create a warm, inviting space for you to come home to yourself. To remember your joy, to feel seen & heard, and to develop a sense of self compassion as you navigate this important role.

Come learn a bit more about me and my work.

Why Therapy

  • You talk, I listen

Even when you love someone deeply, caregiving can bring up messy, confusing feelings. I know how uncomfortable this can be. I’ve been there. It can be a huge relief to speak with someone who can listen without judgement.

  • Just for You

This is safe, space just for you. Imagine being able to say whatever is on your mind and in your heart without fear of being judged. Here you get to show up as you are, all the mess is welcome. Putting yourself first doesn’t mean putting them last.

  • Discover a way forward

You’re not broken, you’re burnt out. You’ve pushed beyond the limits of what you thought possible. You need some time to pause & reflect, to grieve, to come home to yourself. Together we can discover a way forward.

  • New Ways of Being

You’re struggling with your self worth, it may feel even like you’ve lost yourself. Whether this work is a primary focus, or you are emerging from a deep chapter of care, therapy can give you space to explore new ways of being.

Gradually, you will return to yourself,
Having learned a new respect for your heart.
